Release Notes

NB If the 3D geometry does not show you will need to download and install an update from Microsoft, for 64 bit computers download http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=13523 and for 32 bit computers download http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=8328

This is the first official release of the xBIM Xplorer.
We have worked hard to build an Ifc viewer that can handle the types of models being created by the latest BIM authoring Tools.

With xBIM Xplorer you can browse large IFC files, we have tested this on files exceeding 750Mb and have tried our best to ensure it displays correctly the complex geometries in current Ifc files.

Remember this is only a sample application built to show what the xBIM toolkit can do, we hope you find it useful.

We are now working on Model Federation, this is Work In Progress but basis support for model aggregation is now included.

We continue to develop xBIM functionality, coming soon is support for model differencing.

Update 2.4.19 fixes problems with 3D rendering on some installations and the default level of transparency for new models.
Update 2.4.20 fixes problems with COBie export of some files
Update 2.4.22 fixes refresh problems with property pages when a new model is loaded
Update 2.4.24 includes initial support for model federation (WIP) and some new Ifc geometry types
Update 2.4.25 fix for opening xBIM federation IFC files
Update 2.4.26 error in geometry engine installation fixed
Update problems with geometry invisible on models in metres fixed
