This project has been moved to GitHub. Please, raise an issue there if it is still a problem in the latest xBIM4. It implements 100% IFC4.

In terms of formats, XBIM supports:

IFC-SPC (i.e. STEP) format : .IFC files
IFC-XML : (STEP-XML: .IFCXML files
IFC_ZIP : Zipped STEP or STEPXML files. : .ifcxml

And in terms of Schema/ IFC Specification, XBIM supports IFC 2.0 all the way up to IFC2x3. It doesn't yet support IFC2x4. it should open IFC 1.5 files but I don't think you'll come across many of those files these days.

Hi Naresh,

As above, 2x3 is supported today. We have no date set for 2x4. Please remember this is an open source project, supported by people in the construction industry, academia & software industry who volunteer their time and effort to develop this toolkit.

I'd figure we may start to look at 2x4 in 2014 as adoption increases, once we get through our current roadmap items. If you want to bring that forward and want to help us do that by volunteering yourself please shout up. But don't keep asking us when it's going to be supported - opening multiple discussions and issues on this isn't going to help get it implemented any faster.

Thanks

Andy
